It was one of the main events on the ''Comms Calender" in 2011 as a multitude of corporate communications professionals, media practitioners, company directors, ceo's and board members, gathered at the prestigious Royal Swazi Convention Centre to witness Swaziland's 1st Annual Corporate Communications Summit on the 15th April 2011.
Although in its inaugral year then, the Summit managed to bring together the who's who of corporate SD at the full day event which spoke to issues of corporate communications & internal communications, reputation management, issues management, corporate social investment, media relations (an academic and practical perspective) as well as brand activation.
As had been flagged before the event communicator..."this was not just a conference, it was a summit bringing together some of the most experienced luminaries".International speakers at the event included Regine le Roux - Chief Executive Officer and Founder of renowned communications firm, Reputation Matters and Nkolola Halwindi - Group Strategic Services Manager: Communications of the famed Liberty Group.
Whilst local speakers, on the other hand, included Peter Bhembe - Managing Director (Swaziland Water Services Corporation), Stanley Matsebula - Managing Director (Swazi Bank), Dr Maxwell Mthembu (University of Swaziland), Khulile Dlamini - MTN Swaziland and Mbongeni Mbingo - Times of Swaziland.
The 2012 Annual Corporate Communications Summit to be held on the 17th April is billed to be even more of a success as it focuses on issues such as communicating in times of economic crises, reputation and social media, brand and consumer communication, leadership communication, change communication and managing the media.
